Download iso:
This step is the most lazy one. What you need to know is, is your machine 32 or 64 bits?
From this link of Linux Mint you can choose your version, with all the description so you know what best fits your needs.
You can download it via torrent or via server, up to you.

Burn the iso to cd/Usb installer
Another easy step, but a little less lazy.
You can choose to burn the iso on a cd with your favourite burner application(hoping that almost any burner now know how to write on cd an iso image)
or you can create a fast Usb bootable to install everything without the need of using a cd.
Of course, if you need that cd cause you like to have anything under your hands, for security reason, issue reason, any other reason it’s perfect, but like, if you have already other OS inside your computer or you are installing it on a notebook without cd reader, great choose
In this case go to Unetbootin, download it (works with Windows,Linux,Mac). I installed it via cd so I don’t know if the version I found on the ubuntu’s repositories are able to convert it properly, if not, add this repository ppa:gezakovacs/ppa and install the latest version.

Now reboot your machine with cd/usb on and get ready for awesomness. I don’t know your motherboard, so I will just tell you, keep en eye on your manual or visual help to find the button for Boot Manager, so you will be able to do it in fast way.

And now, 3.2.1 Install it! This is pretty easy, almost getting to the hard part.
After a couple of easy questions, it pops the thing: “Use the entire hard disk or make it manual way”?
Best choose is always the manual, so you know what you touch.
Was better for you, expecially if you aren’t used to, to create the partition with your system, like.. 50 Gb with the label: Linuxgoeshere *lafs* ok ok.. let’s get serious.
If you didnt made it, don’t worry.  Direct yourself on the free space and make a new partition.

-At least 10 Gb for root, in linux is called /    and you should set it as Primary
-1 Gb for Swap, today computers has lot of ram, but still userful at least 1 Gb.
-30 or more Gb for your home, called /home  and set it Logical

In my case I still use Ext3 with journaling.. because uhm.. Ext4 doesn’t attract me that much..
For the people that never heard of root and home, root is like “Windows” folder, containing all the important stuff to let the magic happen, and home is more or less like your “My Documents”

Now that you made it, choose your name password and finish the installation and done.

Linux Mint 11 è arrivato, molti apprezzeranno il fatto di mettere un bel sistema operativo fresco e aggiornato sul proprio pc
Per chi sà già come si fa, mi sta bene, non avranno problemi, ma per chi non ce l’ha mai avuto, e vuole un sistema operativo molto professionale e “at state of art” sul proprio hard disk, allora è meglio che segua la mia guida rapida rapida.

In breve, è dannatamente semplice, roba facile, per un grande risultato.
-Scarica la iso
-Masterizzala su cd/fai un usb bootabile
-Installa
-Crea una partizione dedicata
-Goditela

Scarica la iso
Questo passo è il più facile, anche per i pigroni. Dovrete solo sapere se la vostra macchina è a 32 o 64 bit?
Da questo link Linux Mint scaricate la versione che vi interessa, la descrizione vi dice tutto.
Potete scaricarla tramite torrent o dai server, la scelta è tua.

Masterizza la iso
Prendete il vostro programma preferito e giù a masterizzare l’immagine iso sul cd! Sperando che oggigiorno quasi tutti i programmi abbiano l’opzione per masterizzare un’immagine iso.
oppure create un bel usb bootabile, cosi non dovete nemmeno consumare il cd. Certo che se volete farlo il cd potete, nessuno vi obbliga a farlo con la chiavetta.. ma se dovete installarlo sul notebook, sarà dura col cd senza il lettore, a meno che avete voglia di attaccargli il vostro lettore via usb
Se l’usb è la vostra scelta, scaricate Unetbootin download qua (funziona con Windows,Linux,Mac) non è manco da installare, lo scarichi, lo apri, gli dici a quale iso bisogna lavorare sopra, indicate l’unità della chiavetta e fatelo lavorare
Se partite già dal sistema Linux, e vi ritrovate con una vecchia versione di Unetbootin (quando l’ho guardata dal mio diceva Linux Mint 9 come opzione massima per quel sistema) quindi ho semplicemente aggiunto alle repository ppa:gezakovacs/ppa ed è andato tutto bene, aggiornandolo all’ultima versione

E adesso che è tutto pronto, riavviate il computer, fatelo avviare dal cd o dall’usb come da voi scelto in precedenza e via con l’installazione. Non so che scheda madre abbiate, quindi dateci un’occhio sul tastino per richiamare il boot manager. Non fate i furbetti, informatevi se non volete passare 10 minuti a cercare di leggere di sprovvista il tasto per farlo uscire

E adesso installiamolo
Dopo qualche domanda stupida, ci troviamo di fronte alla domanda se vogliamo disintegrare l’hard disk per usarlo tutto per linux, oppure farlo manuale.
Il metodo manuale è una mano santa.
Ovvio che sarebbe stato meglio se facevate una bella partizioncina provvisoria tipo Linuxlomettoqua, cosi, per farvi sentire più al sicuro
Ma a noi non ci interessa, non è necessario, facciamo i seri e prendiamo per le maniche il nostro spazio libero, e ci facciamo le 3 partizioni utili

La partizione root, almeno 10 Gb, cosi, tanto per farla sentire al sicuro, root si chiama /     mettetela primaria e Ext3 con journaling
Un bel Gb per lo swap, che non fa mai male
Un 30 Gb per la vostra accogliente home, chiamata /home     mettetela logica e Ext3 con journaling.

Io ho ancora tenuto la mia scelta sull’Ext3 perchè l’Ext4 non mi attrae, non so.. scelta personale
Ora vi manca solo di fare qualche altra formalità, come il vostro nick e la password di root(amministratore)

Quando avrete finito di installare il tutto, sarete pronti per godervi un bel sistema operativo

Edit: I tried it, and what I can say is: it needs lot of work(luckily is a newborn project), it has 3 effects, but I’m hoping soon will have more features)

Un progetto interessante mi ha colpito mentre girovagavo per SourceForge.
FreeFilm sembra essere una buona alternativa a Windows Movie Maker. E’ allo stato Alpha/Beta, quindi come ho già detto, è un progettino appena nato.
Dobbiamo compararlo per forza di cose con il “peggiore” della categoria, non possiamo compararlo con un colosso come Sony Vegas.
Dalle immagini sembra veramente una buona partenza

Non l’ho ancora provato perchè devo installare il .Net Framework 4.0, quindi, state sintonizzati

Edit: E’ un progetto mooolto appena nato, ha 3 effetti soltanto e non è ancora al livello di WMM,ma ce la farà, ne sono sicuro
Vedremo cosa ci porterà il futuro.

Quello che spiego oggi, è solo come bucare le mesh senza farsi del male(senza perdere minuti preziosi lavorando sui vertici..)
In questo caso ho usato 2 mesh, il cubo, e un tubo
Ho fatto un paio di sottodivisioni,cosi da non stressare il cubetto,ho sistemato il tubo e poi ho applicato il modifier booleano con il metodo difference al nostro cubo.Applicatelo e avete il vostro buco.

I was studying light effects with Blender, when it came to mind that I needed an effect like sunrise what wakes you up kissing your skin with those shy raylights..
and I said, ok, let’s make a window, maybe that trick comes out automatically.. meh! nothing..I just spent a couple of hours understanding how to make a fake glass effect..but we will see it some other day..

2 Meshes used, cube and tube.
Scaled the cube,subdivided couple of times, added the tube, then select the cube and apply a boolean modifier, with difference method and apply.. finished
